Using Your Subconscious

You can change beliefs that do not serve you by using your subconscious.

Our personal belief systems come form many places. Our parents, teachers, friends, books and now so commonly, the TV have a profound impact on what we incorporate into our individual ideas about the world. Some of these beliefs serve us and enable us to achieve our goals, others are limiting and can inhibit our growth and the changes we want to make in our lives.

As you start working toward your goals you may find you have thoughts that are discouraging and that old, not so helpful, patterns return to block your progress.

At times we may not even be aware there are belief systems working in the background of our lives. A good indication that this is happening is if you have a situation in your life you are trying to change, improve or move past and you keep getting stuck. Usually there is some belief entrenched in your subconscious mind that you are not even aware of. Perhaps, deep down, you unconsiously feel you are not worthy of a positive change.

Once you realize you have this buried notion you need to change, you can use your conscious brain to plant a new, more positive, belief in your subconsious. Like using a computer, you can consiously "overwrite" the beleif that is hindering you with something that will enable you to move forward; "I am worthy of becoming a better person".

The first step is deciding what belief will replace the old, not so helpful belief. I suggest "I am" statments;

I am financially successful

I am in great shape

I am finding my perfect relationship

I am creating a successful business

It is important to find a statement that your subconscious and conscious mind can accept as true. If your consious mind has trouble accepting that you are finacially successful, maybe it can believe that you are in the process of becoming financially successful.

Once you have decided on your new belief you are ready to start using your subconsious.

Sit quietly.... relax... go into a sleepy state or totally relaxed state. Once you are in a relaxed state, start repeating your new belief over and over in your mind, visualize and feel this new belief; try it on for size. Do this two or three times a day for at least five minutes, or as long as you want. I really enjoy the experience of feeling and visulizing my new beliefs. See, using your subconscious can even be fun.

Your subconscious will take any direction or belief you give it. Make sure you are planting flowers not weeds.
