Practice Positive Thinking

To keep focused on what you want, you need to practice positive thinking. A great way to do this is, to take no, don't and can't out of your vocabulary.

When you use these words in a sentence you are usually focusing on what you don't want:

Don't touch the glass.

No, you can't watch TV.

No, I don't want to go to the show.

You want to focus on what you do want:

The glass is only for looking at.

Its time to go outside, we will watch a show after supper.

I would rather stay home tonight.

One of my biggest challenges has been riding in a car with children and having them kick the back of the seat. I really wanted to say "don't do that!!" and every time I opened my mouth thats what wanted to come out. I had to stop, regroup and really think about what I wanted them to do, which was "keep your feet down".

Finding the right words to replace our instinctive "no" and "don't" phrases can be a challenge. The more we practice the easier it gets.

The more we focus on what we want, the sooner we get it.

From practice positive thinking to abundant thinking.
