Fitness Goal Setting - Be Healthy Be Fit Be Energized
When you are thinking about fitness goal setting, be clear about what you want. Is it more energy, lose weight or run a marathon? Once you are clear, then you choose an activity or lifestyle change to help you reach it.
To achieve your fitness and health goals find something you enjoy doing. If you're not sure if you will enjoy an activity give it a try. If it works, great, if it doesn't try something else.
I tried running I know many people love to run, however it just wasn't for me. So I moved on to other activities.
Once I have set my ultimate health and fitness goal I then set myself some benchmarks to reach along the way. I make sure that I believe these benchmarks are achievable. I have found especially that with health and fitness goals, having celebrations along the way helps keep me motivated. I have talked to many people who sabotage themselves before they start. This is usually because they think that they have to change their lifestyle extremely in order to be healthy and fit. For example, I met a person who wouldn't start exercising because they figured they had to do it for a minimum of two hours a day to make a difference. Consequently they never did anything. Don't get stuck in this rut. I believe a little action towards your health and fitness goals is better than none at all. You can always pump it up later.
